Candidates should be at least 16 years and not exceeding 45 years of age Candidates should have a valid Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English , Biology , and Physical Science or chemistry or physics plus one of the following science subjects: Mathematics, Agriculture; Geography; Home Economics, General Science. NOTE: If Mathematics is not a credit, it should at least be a strong pass of 7 points.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES: Upon completion of the program, the nursing and midwifery technician shall be able to: Practice independent, interdepends, dependent functions of the nursing midwifery technician within the prescribed scope of practice. Assume responsibility and accountability for own actions and omissions when providing nursing and midwifery care. Assume responsibility for own continuing professional development.
Utilize effective communication skills when interacting with client/patient and members of the health care team to provide quality client/patient care. Provide comprehensive evidence based nursing and communities using and midwifery management process. Utilize knowledge from biological, physical and behavior sciences as a basis for providing comprehensive and competent nursing and midwifery care in a variety of settings.
Participating in advocating for resources and safe work environment required to provide patient care. OBJECTIVES: To contribute towards a regular supply of healthy personnel for health units within Malawi. To provide students with knowledge, skills and appropriate attitude towards caring for the sick. To expose students to appropriately varied clinical and community experiences to enhance learning. Clinical Medicine Certificate Step into the world of healthcare with our Clinical Medicine program, designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to diagnose, treat, and manage medical conditions. Prepare to make a real difference in patient care and become a trusted healthcare professional. This is a full-time 24-month Program.
Candidates should be at least 17 years old and not exceeding 40 years of age Candidates should have a valid Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits including English and three from the following science subjects: Biology, Mathematics, Physical science: Chemistry or Physics OBJECTIVES: To contribute towards a regular supply of healthy personnel for Health units within Malawi.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES: By the end of two year program the graduate should be able to: Take precise medical history from patients/clients. Perform accurate physical examination. Diagnose commonly occurring diseases/conditions. Perform a range of basic clinical procedures which are within a Medical Assistant area of competency. Screen under five children for growth and development. Manage Nutrition related disorders.
Provide relevant reproductive health services. Provide promotive, preventive and rehabilitative and follow up services to individual patient and community. Provide health service professionally. Supervise staff within his/her catchment area. Organize meeting in his /her facility. Collect, analyze, compile, report and use health management information system. Organize patients for DHMT's outreach clinic. Conduct community diagnosis.
